It ain't about the car

 It ain't about the white picket fence or that just depends
 On where your truth begins

 Or maybe I'm just rambling off-topic
 Been sold so many dreams
 But I'm left standing empty-handed
 My quest for independence sure has taken the advantage
 Won't somebody tell me where's the pill
 To ease the ache of all my losses
 I don't want to spend the rest of my life ticking boxes

 Ain't about fear
 'Cause heaven knows that time is always borrowed
 In the end
 So I'd rather not pretend
 To have the upper hand

 I feel I've lost my mind
 Done searching for forever after
 If I could relieve the pressure
 Hidden under perfect laughter
 I've been clinging to this list so long
 I finally realized what the cost is
 I don't want to spend my whole damn life
