Irresponsible

well she told me she loved me
 but I needed to grow up
 that I was being irresponsible
 last night at the blind pig pub
 and I said you know what
 there aint nothin wrong with being irresponsible
 completely unpredictable
 and highly disfunctional
 when your out with your buddies on a saturday night
 you can say what you want
 and do what you think
 toast to anything
 and have a drink on me
 and gettin through lifes gonna seem impossible

 there were fourteen beer cans on my kitchen table
 this morning when I woke up
 so I warmed up a hot pocket
 threw it in my lunch box and headed on off to work
 about a mile down the road
 my ol engine overheated
 I was seven thousand miles
 past the oil change I needed
 I hitched me a ride to the water hole saloon
 cause works over rated and a beer's past due
 there aint nothin wrong with being irresponsible

 we had a show last night
 in deep east Texas
 way out of hand
 half the people got arrested
 the owner stumbled up
 in his drunken rage
 he slapped me on the face
 and this is what he had to say
 your drummer cant play
 your diddle player's layin down
 hell even Ray Wylie Hubbard
 wouldnt even stick around
 I picked up my bud light
 and walked off stage
 we loaded up the gear
 but we didnt get paid
