The Spell of Impisi

Sometimes the lioness leaves her kill 'tis such a mystery
 Why does she leave her kill and run from the spell of Impisi
 Out in the wilds where the hills are blue
 And the mountains meet the sky
 A lioness fell in a trap and no one heard her cries
 But Impisi the hyena heard her plaintiff plea
 Oh great hyena the lioness cried oh won't you set me free
 Impisi Impisi Impisi Impsi
 The hyena said you must die your kill you never share
 You keep each morsel for your king for others you don't care
 The lioness said oh I do know in future when I kill
 Oh great hyena you may eat and always have your fill
 The lioness was then let out and pounced on Impisi
 She said I'm going to kill you know and roared with treachery
 The hyena said now let us get some other points of view
 From the jackal and the old black crow and from the vultures too
 Let Impisi die they said Impisi said but wait
 The way that this scene happened we must re-create
 How did you get into this trap like this the cat declared
 The hyena set off the trap and again the cat was snared
 The meaning of betrayal now oh I have learned so well
 Oh let the old hyena with cunning unsurpassed
 Released the lioness to the wilds where she was free at last
 The lioness was not set free because it was her will
