Where Have All the Eagles Gone

There where days down in Africa where eagles used to fly;
 Lazy days down in Africa, when vultures circled up on high
 And balmy night down in Africa when screech owls used to cry.
 times of plenty in Africa when there were watchers in the sky.
 Times have changed now in Africa, now that the eagles have all gone.
 Where are all the vultures over Africa and people laughing in the sun?
