Moon Girl

The moon and the stars go drifting by
 While you lay sleeping in the deep quiet
 All of your friends tightly gathered round
 Who lift you up so you can look down
 In your waking hours you'll find
 A rhythm to the poem's rhyme
 Follow the one that leads you to the sea
 See what you can see
 Too soon you grow and so much you learn
 How we laugh as we dance, tumble and turn
 That big clock that does move so slow
 Will catch you up so be on those toes
 In your waking hours you'll find
 Some will be good, some won't be kind
 In their way they both hold gifts for you
 It may sound silly but I've known it to be true
 In your waking hours you'll find
