I awoke to a feeling that I've felt before
 that slowly started stirring in my mind
 open my eyes to see the light bounce off the nightstand
 it illuminated memories of the night
 I was alone and she landed next to me
 an angel in her independent right

 too scared to face the truth inside the light

 I stumbled down the dark out to the door

 with nothing left inside of me but pain
