as i stand and gaze at the stars
 the same stars that we used to watch when i was young
 i get to think about everything, and how it could have been
 i know it won't bring you back
 i've tried in my dreams so many times
 but there's nothing that can fill this void that's left
 and knowing what we've missed
 we sat and watched you fade away
 on those beautiful warm spring days
 but the coldness in our hearts could never warm the soul
 and melt the tears
 we were so brave and i just wish that
 we could have shown true emotion
 once in our lives
 but now it's too late
 now everyone has said goodbye
 gone their separate ways, grown up and got their own lives
 the old house left abandoned full of memories and ghosts
 of our past, are you still waiting there?
 lost and alone, not knowing if anyone remembers you
 or if they ever cared
