I've come for good reason
 Because you and I were friends
 Went everywhere without trouble
 But it was God's will
 This morning people should
 Say that you were dead
 But we were famous and used to walk together
 And all men knew it
 Then God came to take you.
 So I said to myself
 I would bring that glass of beer.
 Thus we used to do
 For everyone to see.
 So I brought along this beer to give you, to drink
 Have a good journey
 And may nothing trouble you.
 And this clock, Take it
 If you want to go anywhere,
 The clock always rings at dawn,
 And you will get up too
 Every man who sets off takes a clock with him.
 And when you reach your house,
 Greet all your people warmly.
 Go ahead strong now
 And I will follow you
 Whether somebody killed you
 Because you and I were friends
 That made people angry; I will never understand
 And these twenty dollars
 I throw to the fish
 So you can cross the River
 Take this arrow and shoot the witch.
 Take it along with you
 For defense or revenge
 And as for the beer, And the clock,
 If there is anyone
 Who will be to me as near
 Let him take the clock, the arrow and the beer
 But if there's no one,
 Let me drink and weep,
 And see that a friendship was here
