I Want To Know

Take one good look in my eyes and tell me what you see
 Is it me six years ago, all starry eyed barely past eighteen?
 Or can you see what comes next, have you peeked at some god's mystic plans?
 Or do you just see me now, an often lonely sometimes confused man.
 I never make mistakes I don't want to
 But I often stare into the sun
 Would someone show me please
 How I can get off my knees
 Wishing for what I can't have
 Because it's never good enough
 I can't see clear enough
 She's never really what I want
 So if you know what I want

 A good talk is long overdue sometimes I still miss your voice
 I want to hear about your life, if you regret making your choice
 I don't say that to be cruel, but I wonder every day
