Christmastime (Again)

I don't need mashed potatoes
 You can keep your pumpkin pie
 Never craved deviled eggs or turkey legs
 And I've got my reasons why
 After two whole days of cooking
 You only eat for half an hour
 Feeling so full, gotta pull open your belt
 Just two more notches now
 Some disagree so earnestly
 But I'll shout it till the end
 Thank goodness thanksgiving is over
 Cuz now it's Christmas time again
 Well you can put out all your pumpkins
 But hey it's just a rotting gourd
 Honey I prefer Douglas firs, tinsel and stirring cocoa in the name of the Lord
 No kids have visions dancing
 Of thanksgiving's fancy food
 Smelly stuffing, green bean casserole's served with a side of political feud
 Some disagree so earnestly
 But I'll shout it till the end
 Thank goodness thanksgiving is over
 Cuz now it's Christmas time again
 Don't drink too much, you'll get through this day just fine
 Magic is coming up, it's on its way, in a couple weeks time
 When the guests have gone, my darling
 And the kids are up in bed
 All the dishes clean, feeling that sweet serene relief inside my head
 Come and nuzzle here in closer
 We can dream of what's to come
 Where to put the tree, maybe we finally hang that holly from your mom
