Beautiful Dream

I had a beautiful dream
 Before I woke up tangled in my blankets
 Understanding the noisy drone
 Set to bring me back to a cold room
 Lined with crumpled sweaters
 And inside-out jeans
 As I dent my finger on the "off" button
 And remember
 Waving my heavy arms back and forth
 Floating with schools of tropical fish
 In a high school gym lit like a talent show
 Clear as a bell
 And I'm hearing
 The forced hush of quiet as people get
 When they want to be entertained
