Remembrance

I'm endlessly drowning in this world
 I'm trying so hard to hold my breath
 I've bound my mind to a memory
 The only one I have left

 "The pain will fade away so soon"
 I used to believe in these sweet words
 But I was just a fool
 I've been lost in the darkness for so long
 Still I'm looking for a beam of light
 Thinking about a long passed lullaby
 That makes my soul just right

 "The pain will be no more, for sure"
 She said "I'll always be right there for you"

 But now I find
 This was a lie!
 For I can't find
 A way out of this world
 Nor a place I can really call home
 I'm dying to know what my fate will be if I go on
 I'm burning to ashes so I can't stop the flames from
 Consuming me
 Deep inside
 But now I will use that light
 And the past I keep in my hands
 Slips away like sand
