 A proud man doesn't hear you
 It only matters how he feels
 A used man don't have much to say
 Tires gone he's riding rough on wheels
 Neither knows what peace feels like
 Chasing what is right around the bend
 Chalk it up to "well, that's life."
 Happiness hiding in the wind
 The ground is cracking under all of us
 The river stopping short of home
 Time has got us chasing our own tails
 We run around in circles on our own
 Close your eyes and hear your mind
 Let yourself be still and you'll transcend
 Those little thoughts are the biggest lies
 A con man disguised as your best friend
 Those age old lines in the mirror
 Them scars have never been so bold
 But beauty in the eye of another
 Is forever cold
 Slow your horses down
 Wherever you go, there you are
 Lay your body down
