God Was At His Best

Walking in the garden Eve met the serpent there
 She saw the tree of life was good, made her wise beyond compare
 Adam took the fruit and then to God their sin confessed
 Man was at his worse and God was at his best
 God was at his best that day as He made them coats of lamb
 He made Himself a sacrifice as he would for Abraham
 The first blood would flow so free as God's promise they possessed
 Man was at his worse and God was at His best
 I find no fault in Him were the words that Pilate said
 Yet they raised Him high on Calvary's hill, Adam's thorns upon his head
 The veil was rent, the earth did quake, perfect life had stood the test
 Man was at his worse but God was at His best
 God was at his best that day as He gave us Heaven's Lamb
 He made Himself a sacrifice as he did for Abraham
 The last blood would flow so free as God's promise we possessed
 Man was at his worse but God was at His best
 It was to me a mystery how He could take it all
 If simply I would come to Him, upon His name I'd call
 And How His voice would speak to me saying I will give you rest
 For when I was at my worse God was at His best
 God was at his best that day he was the Shepherd and the Lamb
 He made Himself a sacrifice as he did for Abraham
 The precious blood would flow so free as forgiveness I possessed
 Man was at his worse but God was at His best
 So even when I'm at my worst, He sees me as His best.
