Little Jane

Little Jane comes back home
 After seven years of living alone
 And she says "Mama, I hope you understand
 I had to be with that man"
 Little Jane and her tabby cat
 Already got a couple suitcases packed
 When she says "Papa, I hope you have room
 For a daughter on the move"
 Little Jane crawls into her bunk bed
 And pulls the covers up and over her head
 And she says "Oh God, I hope you know
 Where I'm gonna go"
 And she says
 Why am I here? What's wrong with me?

 I needed some time to make amends
 Before I start again
 Little Jane loads up the pickup truck
 With a couple of boxes and a mattress on top
 And she says "Goodbye, I've got to go
 And find a place of my own"
 And she says
