Outside Looking In

All my life I've been told that you were supposed to count on your next of kin
 but it seems no matter how hard I try i just cant get thru to them
 sometime I feel so alone here in my home surrounded by all my friends
 see I'm on the outside looking in
 Now I'm on the outside looking in I can see all of my family and the life we used to live, sometimes I wonder how I've made it here from where I've been now I'm on the outside looking in
 Now I wonder if they know as I travel this road the way I'm feeling now
 do they remember the name of the son that they've raised or have they forgotten somehow
 I've tried to make them so proud and show them somehow the man that I am
 but I'm still on the outside looking in
