Beneath its roots
 Along its branches
 Life blooms
 Linked by the Bifröst
 Nine worlds endure
 Yggdrasil stands
 By Urd's well gods gather daily
 Not too far from Asgaard beholding their realm
 Meanwhile Nidhogg gnaws the roots of all extent
 Adverse is the eagle on top of the mighty tree
 Ratatosk the squirrel hastes up and down
 Through all the length of the colossal ash tree
 Bearing words of spiteful nature
 Between the eagle and Nidhogg the snake
 Beneath its roots
 Along its branches
 Life blooms
 Linked by the Bifröst
 Nine worlds endure
 Yggdrasil stands
 Hanging on a branch through nine days and nights
 Oden took his life for death does not fright
 Wind blows the leaves for the eagle flaps his wings
 The Aesir feel their grief for Allfather's death
 As the leaves hold the power to restore all life
 Oden rises from the dead gaining holy wisdom
 "An ash I know there stands
 Yggdrasil is its name
 A tall tree showered with shining loam
 From there come the dews that drop in the valleys
 It stands forever green over Urd's well"
