May the Waves Take Me

Standing at the seaside
 Gazing into the distance
 The ocean and me
 Have always been connected
 Here where I stand
 The coast is steep and rugged
 I try to remember
 What it felt like
 To touch the water
 For the first time
 Just a few steps left for me
 To swim into eternity
 And part myself
 From here
 May the waves take me
 To a world below
 To an ulterior abyss
 Where warmth embraces my soul
 May the thought break me
 The taste still sleeps in there
 I feel the ocean reaching out for me
 Our fate to share
 Although the waters' cold bites me
 I continue my way forth
 The tide begins to rise
 Water fills my lungs
 Eventually we become one
 After all these years
 Just a few steps left for me
