i am redeeming this guitar
 by reimagining who we are
 who you are to me and who i wish to be
 for you
 if i cannot be the one to hold you in my arms
 i will find a way to love you as we are
 but i may never sleep, just chasing a melody
 something sweet enough to heal your every scar
 so i am redeeming this guitar
 though i am wishing on a star
 in every moment of my grief choosing you
 if this is now the choice
 whose options break our hearts
 the lesser evil all to clear
 if i can't have all of you
 i'll take what i can get
 and if the things we believed as kids were true
 could you believe it all for me
 'cause i would believe it all for you
 while i am redeeming this guitar
