Bird Feeder

In the shadow of the island across the bay
 I see a boat move, I see it all the way
 From over here
 Looking up, from my book
 Looking out over the water
 It's no wonder
 That I am sick and lonely
 When I live
 Afraid of my own company
 No sailing today on the lake
 So smooth, like metal, like gray
 I could disappear in to the water
 If only I wasn't so afraid
 Bird feeder, outside the window
 There are bees drowning

 Go away
 I can see the sun on the trees
 Up the mountain
 But you wouldn't know
 That it was summer
 Except for those birds
 That are fighting
 And those bees
 That are drowning
