Suddenly a flash of a memory
 Came crashing down over me
 Hit me like a train
 Left me flattened on the floor
 But it made me realize a whole lot more
 Conclusions that seemed so far away
 Turned out to be right next to me
 The denial was real and it worked for awhile
 Until I went to the source
 That started all, washed the paint off the wall
 Only to reinforce
 The tone in your voice
 You broke your promise to me
 Left us to fend for ourselves
 But who knew that it's what was best for me
 At least that's what I tell myself
 Well I know you don't remember what you said
 But 9 years have gone, it's still fresh in my head
 Don't get me wrong I know it's hard
 But the worst thing to do is disregard
 Your actions
 How can you learn from what happened
 If you don't read between the lines
