Another day in jail, wasn't very much to do
 Locked down, finished dinner
 Thought I'd check the news
 Headlines on the screen
 So I read them through
 Been a young man found dead aged 22
 On the side of the road he was left
 He was murdered
 With a shotgun to the head
 Whole unit were quiet not much to be said
 I wondered if what happened was done with regret
 Then they released a picture with his name
 I felt sick in the gut, the memories they came
 I remembered his face 'cause I've been to his place
 Met his family and knew they would never be the same
 He was a fan of the music I've done
 He asked for a canvas painted for his son
 And my blood ran cold what I did fear true

 Small town and he has a lot of family
 I tried to think of the reason that it had to be
 His cousin quiet, that was a sight that was sad to see
 That night I just wondered what it is

 More sons growing up without their father
 All I know is each night is getting darker
 A lot of people never think about the karma

 I still think of his kids and how they miss him bad
 I guess the shooter didn't really ever think of that
 We just wanna give them everything we didn't have

 While everybody's getting caught up in some hectic beef
 We all need the answer can't forget grieve
 But then we forget to let the man rest in peace
 We need peace, I believe we can find it
