State of Emergency

Shots ring out in another town
 911 there's another child down
 You say it's your right in the land of the free
 But now it's become a social disease
 They'll rush to vindicate this insanity
 While there's still blood lying on the street
 This rich country's in a state of decay
 And no one's safe in the USA
 Another bullet takes a kid mom his family
 L'm appealing to your heart, l'm appealing to your sanity
 Lock them all up and throw away the key
 From your cold dead hands, if that's how it's gotta be
 This is a state, it's a state of emergency
 When every other day there's another tragedy
 This is a state, it's a state of emergency
 When every other day another bullet takes a kid away
 Thoughts and prayers they don't do a thing
 It's just an insult to the victim's family
 How are we living in the land of the free
 When so many kids are shot dead on the street
 They'll smugly debate this insanity
 'Cause dollars and cents are all they see
 Got blood on your hands and no peace of mind
 As you profit from the carnage left behind
