Vengeance

While he sleeps he can feel the pulse of the universe quivering,
 beneath his fingers he can strum the strings of creation
 He can watch stars be born and die in a single breath,
 with all this power, if only he could master his foe
 Vengeance against time
 Vengeance against memory
 The malice that clouds his mind
 Vengeance will be his
 For all his accomplishments amount to nothing
 if his being is devoured by one greater than himself
 Vile misanthropy spews silently forth from a stone face
 Brutality driven by fear
 Confronted in solitude, he is faced with the gnawing truth:
 that it was not darkness where he was birthed
 Looking for answers, writhing in madness
 Cursed like a leper, endless sorrow
 Vengeance against time
 Vengeance against memory
 The malice that clouds his mind
 Vengeance will be his
 "How do I kill this hated part of myself?
 How do I remove this putrid fragment of my soul?
 There is an unending well of hatred within me
 from which bile and fury spring forth"
