I get a break and I find myself

 Don't try the phone or text a message
 No. So what I do
 Is
 Grab a simple pen and paper
 Figure out what thoughts to favour
 And will it work, well, I'm not so sure
 Maybe someday
 I'll coin a new phrase

 It sounds a bit absurd
 Still, my prose gets all tied up in

 Is quite the thing to rhapsodise
 Please forgive my compromise
 This communiqué is what I can't say
