The Angel

An came from heaven, and he got into my dreams
 I remember every word he said but I dont' know what they mean.
 He said, "You have got a job to do, and you better do it well,
 If you don't you'll feel like you're living in hell.
 Oh we're not as warm and not as many interesting folks
 The days will just repeat themselves and one day, you'll explode
 One day you'll explode
 So you better heed my warning, pay attention to the signs
 It might seem like coincidence, but they come from the divine."
 And with that he gave a wink, and he flew out of my head
 Now it's Four AM and I'm lying wide awake in my own bed.
 I tell myself, go back to sleep, it was just a dream,
 But there's a feather on my pillow, and another on my window screen.
 (Whistling)
 No, I don't believe in angels, at least I didn't 'til today,
 But those words he whispered in my ear, they just won't go away,
 So I keep on moving forward, along this unworn path,
 With nothing but a broken compass, and a tattered, torn old map.
 I have no sense of direction, but when I start to question why, the answer's written in the stars if I just look up to the sky
