Once driving at dusk
 Through a satellite town
 The lights coming on
 And the rain coming down
 You were undone
 By a couple of lines in a Go-Betweens' song
 You were startled to find yourself singing along
 ♪
 The words caught in your throat
 Shy of the note
 
 Now and again
 In the last of the light
 You're reminded of then
 Looking back now those were difficult days
 A foldaway bed at your grandparents place
 And a heart worse for wear
 You waited all winter
 For something to give
 For the gathering storm clouds to scatter and lift

 For a square inch of sky
 You could stare into
