Unquiet Souls Under Water

The heavy waves beat on the bridge
 And scribble stone so vintage
 The drizzle's gathered boulevards
 An acrid mist eats eyes
 There are groans of souls
 Under shape of water
 Shackled by rusty bonds
 Chained to the river's bottom
 For ever
 And ever
 Damnation and a day
 They cannot breathe and say
 Under water!
 An eerie hum is heard above
 The dreams at night disturb the dormant
 Plague upon 'em paroniriae
 But there are not the baneful mordants
 Of former marshes
 The souls!
 They built this burg
 Forever buried
 Beneath the waves
 Of silent pall
 Not sang at church
 They are not rested
 No one remembers
 Them... them!
 They scary groan
 They rot forever
 In glacial water
 Unquiet
 Unquiet souls
 Grim guardians of the city
 The terrible eternal guards
 Their white hair spread out
 Creating ripples
 The tears are falling from the sky
 Unto the water
 Where they are, crippled
 Eke out their fatal life
