Mercy Calls

These are the stories I've kept in hiding
 songs I've buried deep within
 it happens only on a soft slip of drunken influence
 that they've even been spoken
 And that somewhere is a place for strangers
 those above and those below
 when you've failed with flying colors
 somewhere is the place you go
 It began with mercy and mercy is how it will end
 it began with mercy when mercy calls
 we all know who's answering
 well me I never made me any family
 except these couple songs I wrote
 and I long for every number that I played when I was younger
 as I sing this ransom note for note
 I sing about my good friends drifting
 and where did all the good times go
 every word is dug up from a coffin
 every line reanimated for the sideshow
 There is danger at the end of the story
 there is madness at the end of it all
 if you want someone to know for certain
 let them answer mercy's call
 when the band starts it's final number
 once upon a broken promised land
 in an ever ending story
 for a brief moment of glory
 we remember where it all began
