Hello my dear, how have you been
 I know it's been a while
 You say you're well, but I can tell
 That there's something in your smile
 That wasn't there so long ago
 When sunlight filled your eyes
 Now darkness is all that remains
 Behind a bright disguise
 I hope that you're happy with this mess that you've made
 And the body count along the way
 You're so good at pretending you may even fool yourself
 But I won't be fooled again
 I don't see why you feel the need
 To remind me everyday
 That in the end I had a choice
 And I chose to walk away
 Well it took years and too many tears
 To find the strength to say
 That a life of truth in solitude
 Beat your mind fucks any day
 I hope that you're happy with this mess that you've made

 The best laid plans of mice and men often go askew
 Which is how I ended up that day with no clue what to do
 Neither poet nor pro do I claim to be, still I hate to sound cliche
 But despite the scrapes and scars sustained I'm still alive today
