The Days

I discovered skateboarding in punk rock music
 when I was 14 years old.
 At that time it just seemed like,
 they just went hand in hand.
 I mean,
 The spirit of both things were about expression
 and individuality.
 For the first time of my life I knew who I was
 and I knew what I wanted to do with myself.
 And I knew.
 I knew there would be no looking back.
 We hit the streets
 (Born to run)
 Not looking for trouble
 (Just having fun)
 But around here it's against the law
 (To be young)
 Around here you're guilty by
 (Suspicion)
 We meet out in abandoned
 (Parking lots)
 Under the street lights
 (After dark)
 Armed with skateboards and
 (Guitars)
 Against gang fights and police states and
 (Holy Wars)
 These
 Are
 The
 Days
 I remember just,
 being so inspired and empowered.
 And you know what?
 I still feel that way,
 The spirit still fills me.
 Now that they say things have changed
 That it's different for the kids today.
 But I don't buy that at all,
 I think it's just about digging a little deeper
 and asking the right questions.
 I still believe that these are the days.
 These have always been the days.
 We hang out in the garage

 Skate our ramps and listen

 Hold onto the night and try to

 The cars rush by going
