Patriot's Day

He says "Leave your bag with me"
 Although I must admit I don't know how
 You did so easily
 And you say "What's this world to me?"
 When we're powerless to change
 What is plain enough to see
 Winds roll through and blow the smoke away
 Ice floes melt and give their charge away
 Down they go to be found out one day
 And i say "Take this sum of me"
 Although I must admit I don't know how
 It's spent so easily
 Dress me up in my fatigue
 And say there was a time, we stood our ground
 And promised to be free
 Running, riding thru the night and day
 Here they come better steal yourselves away
 Trace the path that led us to our
 Patriot's Day
 And we say "what's become of our dream?"
 When we can offer up a willing hand
 It comes so easily
 Tides will rise and wash this all away
 Suns explode to form another day
 Til then can we raise the voice we found on Patriot's Day
