I Owe Myself

I never went to college, ok I did but I dropped out
 Too cool for school I guess I passed out
 The grades weren't the problem it was more the methamphetamine
 And showing up to class shit that wasn't my pedigree
 On the fast track to success in my backpack
 Till one day I just up and quit and had enough and that's that
 And looking back it's like the best that ever happened
 Started rapping now I travel round the world now imagine that
 People told me I was foolish till I showed em wrong
 All my friends graduated started moving on
 And here I sit in the same city I grew up about to blow up
 And shit I'll probably never leave
 But really I just found a way that I can still achieve
 Cause sitting at a desk pushing papers isn't me
 I'm born to inspire against the grain
 I'm admired for acquiring the balls required to not retire

 I owe myself for all my struggles and all of my pain
 I owe myself for all the success that's coming my way
 I don't ever wanna walk away, I don't want anyone to feel any blame
 I just want them to feel entertained with my name in the game

 We sharpen our skills but still get inundated with strife

 And meant to scare the middle class into working for cheap and see
 I didn't like it so I made my own lane chose to nurture my ambition

 Now I'm writing for a living and living up out my destiny
 I'm focused on my future and the ways to be a better me

 I'm working just like my father coming from the rock bottom
 I'm counting up every dollar
 I'm a blue collar scholar, considered a shot caller
