Nobody knows what the Queen Bee said
 Honey not me and surely not you
 Cause you were buzzing round the kitchen
 With too much to do
 And the workaday world was singing in my head
 So I really didn't hear what the Queen Bee said
 She came in through the window and sat down on the stove
 Daughter took a swipe with a yellow Handiwipe
 And when baby yelled yipe
 She darted and she dove
 And she might have said something 'bout a pretty flower bed
 But I really didn't hear what the Queen Bee said
 Summer's in the attic
 Somewhere in a box
 Spring is just a memory rusted and locked
 And I'm living but I'm dying
 And there's questions in my head
 How come nobody knows what the Queen Bee said
 So I looked out the window for the very first time
 There were colors on fire and birds on the wire
 They were singing 'bout a river
 And talking in rhyme
 And the Queen Bee buzzed and I might have heard her sing
 And the smell of the earth was strong in the spring
 Summer's in the attic
