Life Is but a Dream

Life is but a dream, just stranded in between
 The days and the nights, trying to fathom what it means
 But life is so much more when it unravels from the seams
 Heavy is the heart when life is pulling at the strings
 Falling in my dreams, this test is so profound
 Hoping I can learn to fly before I plummet to the ground
 I've witnessed all that matters turn to ashes in the sun
 But the dream beyond this life is what we face when life is done
 Shieldin' the light that has dimmed throughout the years
 Waving in the wind and nearly doused by all the tears
 Life is filled with pain that can bring us to our knees
 Though hidden in the will to rise again lie steady seas
 Life is all there is and life is nothing less
 Than a test to carry forth these visions through the emptiness
 In the darkness I remember I was summoned for this journey
 Staying true to the quest as I keep the fire burning
