Happy Anniversary

I admit that I have you let you down, honestly
 And I let myself save up your nightmares and cashed in your dreams
 I can hide behind this pen and observe from here
 And throw my stones knowing that the end is near
 But you are the one and I don't care if we have a dollar
 I wander through life with no purpose in mind like a sheep
 And I find solitude in what others can do from afar
 I am selfish, indulgent, dependent, but free
 No time for your problems means more time for me
 This could be the hit song, you keep telling me I'm not listening
 It's boring to me
 But since
 I do not have the passion I once had
 Too many dollars short
 And so close to a divorce
 I'm running out of ways to kill the bad (?)
 But all that I need
 Is right in front of me
 A drink, a pen, a smoke, a pill, a line

 Been there for every verse
 For this I listen till the day I die
