Searching for Us

We roam and we ramble
 Get lost and get tangled
 In the thorns and the bramble
 Confused and alone
 Like children, we flee
 From the thing that we need
 And stray without heed
 Far away from our home
 And helpless, we stand
 In a desolate land
 It's cold, wet, and dreary
 We're lonesome and weary

 But He's searching for us from the east to the west

 When he finds me, he calls
 Standing winsome and tall
 And helpless, I fall
 To the ground at His feet
 But then he sweeps up His bride
 Looks me deep in the eye
 And tells me He'd die
 if that's what it costs
 To make me believe
 That astonishingly
 He loves me for me
 No matter what
 But He's searching for us from the east to the west
