Inheritance

The eagles tear the sky with sneaks on their beaks
 Flying over the lilies in the fields of kings
 Have you seen the harvest spill into the abyss
 Have you seen it overflowing, overflowing
 The oceans met the land
 and the sky was fed by constellations
 The sun shines for both good and bad
 We carried the coffin of life raising high the burning torches
 Singing with souls that you are freedom
 The beats of your forgiveness are so strong
 that they strike guilt and defeat it,
 Leave it without breath
 We deserved the grave
 but you took our place
 And you planted us like a tree next to water
 By your name lions swallowed their tongues

 By your name the rejected, the troubled souls have met the healer
 Those tired will see the horizon on your shoulders
 The meek will inherit all the earth
