Let me tell you a story
 'Bout a woman I know
 She was so smart and pretty
 A tenderness that I never saw
 But sometimes she spoke about things
 That nobody understood
 She saw so many devils
 But never lost her sweet mood
 She prayed to the lord with passion
 Was everyday to church

 Why the best people go first

 She was poor with little health
 But I never heard her complain
 she never thought 'bout herself
 And never talked about the pain
 She always spoke 'bout happiness
 That she wished for her children
 I never saw so much kindness
 I'm sure she's good in heaven
