well I woke up this morning, put the shoes upon my feet
 Went down the station at 16th Street
 Played my guitar for the people walking by
 Well it's a whole lot easier than waiting around to die
 Well they're running up the escalator, tearing down the stairs
 Thrown out the sorrows and ignored all the cares
