No Power in the Water

There's no power in the water
 Be it in the mighty Mississippi
 Or the Jordan when it floods
 There's no power in the water
 To take away our sin
 The power is in the blood.
 God sent John the Baptist
 To preach and make a way
 For the Savior who would save
 The whole world through
 John baptized with water
 Said one more powerful would come
 But there was something
 Even John the Baptist knew.

 At the pool of Bethseda
 Jesus met a man
 With an illness forty years
 Could not dispel
 He was waiting by the water
 to be healed when Jesus said
 Take up your bed and walk
 You've been made well
