Life of an Extra

Feet hanging over the edge
 Watching as movie scenes unfolding frames
 Is it all in my head or is everyone three steps ahead?
 From the nodding I'm so sick of asking
 Why is it them and not me?
 Feels like the main part of a story I'll never be
 Am I destined to see the life of an extra just weaving through another's romanticised life?
 Would that be justified?
 Everyone seems to be dancing in pairs (uuh)
 And floating around with the hot silly air (uuh)
 Unfolding fairytales every night (uuh)
 But for now I'll sit back and watch these moments take play (uuh)
 Floats on the rivers, I shine over wine (uuh)
 With laughter and jokes, and hand holding in smiles (uuh)
 Maybe one day I will know what that's like (uuh)
 To be the main part of the romanticised life
