Stepping About

I've been pacing back and forth and thinkin', lately
 We've been talking 'bout it on and off now, baby
 We don't know what we want, I don't know what I need
 I, I've been walking up and down this same street
 But I can, I can remember
 What I wore, in early November
 I spend my time, ignorin' doubt, stepping 'bout, tryin' out.
 But at times, I need to chill out
 Few years back I gave myself this designation
 To-manifest my thoughts and call it my creation
 I've been trying to win, scared to come in second
 I, I said it once but I'll keep sayin' it again
 And I can, I can remember
 What I wore, in early November

 But at times, I need to chill out

 I've been talking bout my blues a lot lately,
 Like I just gave up on a daydream,
 I'm flailing like I'm trying hard to stay up,
 But grammy told me, when you're failing, baby breathe easy
 Turn that loss into a learning, turn it back into a lay-up
 For some better days,
 At least I'm leaving crumbs lookin' for better ways,
 I may be broken, I'll eventually renovate,
 It won't be perfect, but I'll still have on a pretty face,
 A fire burning at a steady pace.
