Thorn Palace

Upon ancient steps
 Where civilization once ascended and took it's final breath
 I felt my soul decay
 Crumbling like the elder vines spreading razors through poisoned veins
 Another bearer of the mark of Kane
 bones grow weak and muscles ache
 I watched my reflection become grey and turn to ash upon the staircase
 A Blink in the abyss of time
 Dragging agony through epochs
 That colossal wreck buried far way
 Our grand ego decayed beneath the burning waves
 But it was our life
 The world we couldn't save
 Parthenon crumbles as desert takes the sea
 Withered Reichstag, barren and bleak
 The seed grows as the void swallows whole
 Thorn Palace, the fallen have sowed
 I saw where their hearts were fed and where I would soon join them
 The cold smashed faces that
 mocked them staring lifeless at leveled sand
