Rainydays

One, two, three, four
 Well money talked but I didn't listen
 and then it disappeared
 all the top economists said it's much worse than they ever feared
 It almost gives you vertigo
 from staring at the ground
 complicated charts and graphs
 were being passed around
 saying things are going to get more expensive now
 jobs fewer and far between
 things are going to get a lot harder here
 just wait and see
 well things are going to have to get worse
 if they're ever really going to get better
 and everybody loves a whinge
 nobody loves a whinger
 Well these are the rainy days they told us about
 the ones that we were supposed to save up for
 I didn't save a penny baby
 didn't bring my umbrella
 I've been walking 'round the city with my clothes off
 Saying, "I like the rain, it makes flowers grow
 and I don't mind getting wet
 We could work a little harder
 and expect a little less
 When the going gets tought the tough get going
 and that how this story goes
 but all anybody really cares about
 is some more designer clothes
 if money is the root of all evil
 I say let's just let them keep it
 We could work the best with what we've got
 and do the best that we can with it
