Among Worms It Was Whispered

Tears of forgotten lives shattered upon my cenotaph
 A monument frozen in time!
 For as Infinihility called upon me
 I chose to secede from my realm
 In favour of the permanent throne
 Once caught in a spectral existence
 I tasted death's own kingdom
 And never would I have thought
 It would leave me craving more
 And so I made it my mission to seek far and beyond
 For what the prophecies all left out, buried aeons ago
 But little did it bother me for of the soil oh, was I fond
 ...and among worms it was whispered
 That what is dead cannot be conquered!
 Draggling through the mud of distant times
 Were the words that spoke of a despair
 Brought by a tyrant King destined to disperse
 They spoke of a sun
 Swallowed and buried in the wake of the tomb
 But they spoke of no cure for the corrosion of what I shun!
 No, not a word of the restoration of the essence of man
 No remedy for my treachery
 Crawling through the deep tombs with the restless
 Fueled by the purest loathe for existence
 I then and there knew my future
 To unfurl a cruel reign of depression
 In a moment of clarity I could see the future
 Of the world that was to be
 I was to bestow upon the world the fate to be one with the worm
 Yes, I was destined to benight the earth
 And with my voice of lacerated sedation
 I'd sing the world my last lamentation of this life so futile
 Under my dismal crown, eternally
 The foul will emerge in search of their Messiah!
 With the wake of the tomb comes
 The slumber of The Withered King
 And the masses will drown in the tears of their forgotten lives
 But no tears of mine will ever
 Shatter upon the dying earth, slowly consumed by time
 For as Infinihility gulps away at the rotting remains
 Of my ever despaired reign
 I'll oblige to the condemnation of this memory and disperse
