Carved into Ice

The wind has calmed down
 We're left to drift in a weak stream
 Barely enough to keep
 The ocean from freezing
 Exhaling's visible
 And the cold bites to the bones
 Looking around trying to find
 A clue where to go
 Set the course
 Towards beyond
 The only way
 To escape the cold
 The stream keeps weakening
 And ice begins to form
 Soon it will stop us from moving
 And leave us at the mercy of the cold

 We were told not to go

 Tare up the sails
 Blow the masts down

 No shelter to be found
