Journey into the Eternal Winter

At the end of all time
 is a winter night, vast and eternal
 all life is stopped
 by a frost, biting and cold
 This is where it all ends:
 under a cold, starlit sky,
 between ancient mountains
 in an unforgiving land.
 Leafless trees, frozen in silence
 point gnarled branches
 as if to lay blame
 at the roots of another
 Flakes of snow gently fall
 in a cold dark silence
 Trees dressed as white tombstones
 dot the dead landscape
 Journey into the eternal winter,
 through white frost and endless cold
 In a forsaken place of sorrow
 time stands still and silence reigns
 I wander into the snowstorm,
 a final journey for this mortal form,
 a body that shall never be found
 even should sun melt the ice on this ground
 This is where it all ends:
