Well a fire took the Castle Dracula back in '02
 And the Shore Plaza motel met its end up in flames too
 I lost my teddy bear there when I was just a little boy
 But for a couple of bucks and a little bit of luck

 It's funny when there's insurance money
 Somebody's trying to turn
 Things around this boardwalk town
 Have a way of just starting to burn
 But the fire will die and you'll leave with your life
 Thank god, nobody got hurt
 Give it a month and they'll put something up
 On top of the ash and the earth
 My feet in the sand, locked up by the land
 Believe I just might leave if I could
 You could stab me in the back, I will always come back
 Running wild through those wild, wild woods
 The accent on the Frog Bog barker sounds like Dublin to me
 And the man at the top of the Ferris wheel said
 "Son, that's something that you never used to see
 Immigrants tearing your tickets to get on the merry-go-round"
 I said, "That describes you, buddy, and me too
 You best go on and get used to it now"
 My feet in the sand, locked up by the land

 There's a fight breaking out in front of the gift shop
 As the morning meets the night
 There's cops all around but when the deal goes down
 There doesn't seem to be a single one in sight
 There's a window of candles in the boardwalk chapel
 That's slowly starting to fade
 As a whole congregation in a holy celebration
 Sings, "Everybody, everybody's gonna be saved"

 They watched that tram car carry us home
