Sending Death

You praise God for the good
 You don't blame him for the bad
 You praise him when you're happy
 And even when you're sad
 You think his only act
 Is one of kindness
 An unseen force doing all that is good
 Send your praise to the sky
 Waiting for your savior to arrive
 You'll wait until you die
 Pray to cure the disease he gave
 No blame for the lives he won't save
 Pray to get rid of the sorrow
 Even though he'll send more tomorrow
 Pray to live for many years
 No mention of all the tears
 Pray for help after a storm
 To you sending death is the norm
 You give thanks for nothing
 You are praying for nothing
 Why would you give praise
 When the world is ablaze
 To a being that could prevent
 A life full of torment
 To a being that could refrain
 From causing a life of pain
 Nothing could be more clear
 That the truth is what you fear
 God would be the one to atone
 But really we're all on our own
